Self-inflicted injury and self-poisoning are major causes of hospital admission of young adults throughout the United Kingdom, while in Scotland, suicide is the leading cause of death each year in persons aged 15 to 40 years.
Because of the stigma and lack of readily available information about self-injury, people who resort to this method of coping often receive treatment from physicians (particularly in emergency rooms) and mental-health professionals that can actually make their lives worse instead of better. But basically it's a day in support of those who have been bullied (sometimes to death) due to lgbt hatred and homophobia

wow I wish I knew about this sooner. I know several people who have had a very hard time because the people closest to them are religious. And well we know all about religion and LGBT don't we? I remember one time he couldn't stop crying because his family had an intervention about his "lifestyle".
